Location: Bellevue Christian Church
10808 SE 28th Street
Bellevue, WA 98004
.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are pleased to offer this one week summer session to fine young
classical musicians and singers in the Puget Sound region, especially
for middle and high school musicians who want to increase performance
and sight reading skills, explore chamber music literature, enjoy participating
in chamber music and/or vocal ensembles, enhance personal growth in
musicianship, and gain advantage in auditions and competitions.

Entry is by registration.

Faculty will be regular Academy faculty.
Steinway pianos are standard for ensembles and classes.

Sheet music and required materials are provided by the Academy.
Students will then copy or buy their own parts so they can be marked and
retained in their personal music libraries.

PERFORMANCE (beginning, intermediate, advanced levels)
Ensemble participants should be able to sight read and play on pitch for
their performance level.

Intermediate and advanced levels will be available to qualified performers
who want to explore chamber music literature and move to a higher level of
personal performance, playing with peers.

Instrumental ensembles may include piano, strings, winds, harp.
Fully and partially pre-formed ensembles are also welcome to work with our
professional chamber music coaches.

Vocal ensembles can include any number of singers: female and male
voices. Participants should sing on pitch and have basic sight reading skills.

More advanced performers & pre-formed ensembles may request specific
music (in advance). Coaches can also select appropriate music for each
ensemble.

Performance Ensembles will play a closing performance on Friday.
All students, faculty, families, studio teachers, and other guests are cordially
invited to attend the Friday performance session.

SIGHT READING (beginning, intermediate, advanced).
These sessions will introduce and/or develop essential sight reading skills.
that are essential to successful auditions, where candidates are asked to sight
read music never seen before.
This skill also allows performers to place in more adanced levels in any
performance group.

Sight Reading sessions will precede Performance Sessions each day.

GROUP SIZE: Small size is the norm to provide for maximum progress.

APPROVAL: If faculty ok or clarification is needed, the teacher/coach will
contact the student to determine appropriate level.
