The Pre-College Division offers a core curriculum consisting of classes in music theory and ear training, an instrumental or vocal ensemble, and the performance workshop, a weekly masterclass. Students who can test out of basic theory and ear training are welcome to chose from other electives.

New in 2010-11

The Academy is excited to offer a number of new courses this year, including advanced courses for students with demonstrated maturity and proficiency in our core curriculum materials. Enrollment in these courses must be approved by Academy faculty, or in some cases requires a special audition. New courses include:

  • Sight-Reading Skills for Pianists
