Daniel Miller, composition (Eric Flesher, Samuel Jones) accepted by Univ. Michigan with a merit scholarship; Lawrence (for double major and overseas study w/merit scholarship),
Rice, w/merit scholarship), & Bard College.
Timothy Krippner, piano (Peter Mack), will attend Univ. Michigan to study with Dr. Logan Skelton. Tim received two renewable scholarships, a music merit
scholarship of $10,000; and the Penelope W. and E. Roe Stamps Academic Scholarship, also $10,000.
He was one of only 18 incoming freshman in the
whole university awarded the Stamps scholarship.
Tim was also was accepted by Oberlin with a $20,000 dollar music merit scholarship; University of Wyoming with full tuition; and Wheaton College where he was the only recipient of the Mary A. Baske Scholarship in addition to a Special Achievement Music Award.
Damian Nelson, viola (Joyce Ramee), accepted by & named a Presidential Scholar by
McDuffie Center for Strings at Mercer Univ. (includes full tuition plus required academic fees: $28,400.
Accepted by Shepherd School of Music, and waiting for Rice response for a double
major at Shepherd & Rice.
Wait-listed at Cleveland Institute of Music.
Lila O'Brien, viola (Roxanne Patterson) accepted by : Bates, Grinnell, Whitman, and
Wait-Listed at Oberlin.

Foundation's International Violoncello Competition, (NY).
Out of 90 international applicants
ages 17-30, only 30 were accepted
as candidates for the
first round. Julian was the youngest 'cellist
accepted.

composition for flute
choir performed. This
is a modified arrangement of his Brass Quintet
called “White Sands
Variations”.

Apr 19. Ani Kavafian, Violin Master Class at the Academy. Ani is on faculty at Yale University, & is an international soloist and ensemble performer. She was 1 of the 4 interim Seattle Symphony Concert Masters. Her latest concerts were Apr 17-20. 4 students of Simon James participated.
