| Pre-college
students (ages 9-18) enter by audition and
placement.
See the Pre-College page.
Performance
Auditions. Anyone who wants to perform
in a choral or instrumental ensemble is auditioned and placed by
the appropriate Program Director. Performance opportunities
exist for solo, small chamber music ensembles, chamber orchestra,
choral ensembles, and concert band.
These groups are for pre-college musicians, but occasional exceptions
may be made for older performers. (See the Pre-College
page.)
Composers
may submit finished and in-progress works for their audition.
Works may be presented in digital format, but must not be composed
in digital format. Composers in the Pre-College program must also
demonstrate competence on one instrument. Major music
colleges also require instrumental competence for entry to their
composition programs.
Children
(ages 3-10) have
open enrollment and are placed by the Children's Program Director.
Advanced young performers may also audition to participate in a
chamber music ensemble. Some children may be approved to perform
in the Pre-College Performance Hour with their teachers' approval.
Adults
in the Literature and Materials of Music class are approved
and placed by the the Adult Program Director. Students must have
studied music previously and be able to read music to qualify
for this class.
Special
- One Time - Classes have open enrollment
for the community-at-large. Students and families currently
enrolled in the Academy are also welcome to join these classes. |
